Challenge #2 Elizabeth's Sketch & an Extra Challenge

Hello everyone and a warm welcome to Live & Love Crafts' 2nd challenge.
Before we're getting started, myself and the Design Team would like to thank everyone who entered our first challenge, Nautic. There were so many stunning and creative entries. We'll be back to announce the Top3 and the crafter we hope will join us as a Guest Designer for the September challenge next week.

The lucky winner who has won the £25 Voucher for the Live & Love Crafts' Store has been drawn though and that person is...

No. #24 Tineke

Congratulations; please contact me, Sandy to claim your prize.

Debbie - in my eyes you'll always be the queen of distress ink colouring; thank you so much for joining us!

Our second GD is Kirsty-Anne and she's a true paper artist. She does the most amazing things with paper!!!
If you haven't seen her "Shabby Chic Caravan" already, you must go and check it out here.

When I saw this picture I thought to myself "wow that's a really pretty card", but that wasn't all....

It turned out the card was actually not a greeting card, but a recipe card that goes into this stunning recipe box!!! The card is the recipe card for Kirsty-Anne's Carrot Cake and that brings me to our second challenge.

At the bottom of this post, you'll find Kirsty-Anne's recipe for her carrot cake.
We'd love for you to try it out; anybody who uses this recipe (or your own recipe for that matter; we won't be able to tell, will we? :-) and uploads an image of  the carrot cake baked to the Inlinkz tool will be in the running for a secret prize from Live & Love Crafts!!!

Kirsty-Anne's Project Ingredients

"Rose Frame" 12 x 12, From My Heart II, Pion Design

Thanks Kirsty-Anne for sharing your talent and your recipe with us!

Here's a quick recap of the rules of the Live & Love Crafts' Challenge
Only one entry per person and challenge please
Your submission must be a new creation
(i.e. not posted prior to this challenge going live)
You may combine our challenge with a maximum of 9 other challenges (10 in total).

...and remember this is not just a card challenge; we welcome any kind of paper art projects; scrapbook layouts, tags, gift boxes, gift bags, altered items...and if you're a stamper you can use whatever image you like.

Have fun creating & baking!!!

Hugz from Sandy and the DT

KIRSTY-ANNE'S SIMPLE CARROT CAKE
175gm plain flour
10g baking powder
5g cinnamon
3g cloves
3g nutmeg
200g light soft brown sugar
150ml sunflower oil
2 large eggs
200g peeled grated carrot
75g chopped walnuts plus extra for sprinkling over the top

Icing
200g soft cream cheese either full or low fat
100g unsalted butter softened
125g icing sugar
Finely grated zest of an orange & Juice of half an orange

Instructions
Preheat oven to 160oc Fan assisted, oven, and line two 20cm round baking tins with non stick baking paper. Sift the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg into a bowl.
In a separate large mixing bowl, mix the soft brown sugar with the oil and beat the eggs until smooth. Add the carrots and walnuts then fold through the sifted dry ingredients.
Divide the batter between the lined tins and bake for about 25 minutes, until a small knife comes out clean when inserted into the centre. Allow to cool in the tins.
Either by hand or using an electric mixer beat the cream cheese, butter, icing sugar, orange zest and orange juice until smooth.
Remove the two cooled sponges from the tins and sandwich them together with a third of the icing.
Spread the other two thirds of the filling over the top and sides and sprinkle with the remaining chopped walnuts.
